The journey I personally had to take to have the courage to attend college was long and slow. After graduating high school during the pandemic I used the state of the world as an excuse to avoid thinking about my future for about a year or so until my grandfather passed away suddenly in 2022. After this event I seriously reflected on my life and the people who were left around me and decided to face my anxiety about regarding school. I like many students was unsure of how to navigate it and I didn’t have a lot of positivity and outward support in my life. I honestly, debated with the choice for about six months due to my worries regarding finances, grades, and workload. After losing one of my biggest supporters I decided to take a semester at Bishop state community college. Since then, I have learned a lot about myself and have learned that while it may feel better to do the easy thing, ultimately, doing the hard choice pays off more.
