My journey has been one of resilience, determination, and unwavering faith. Balancing parenthood and academics has been anything but easy. There were days when exhaustion felt overwhelming, when the weight of responsibility seemed too much to bear. But through every challenge, I reminded myself why I started: to create a better future for my children and to prove to myself that I am capable of achieving my dreams. One of the biggest obstacles I faced was self-doubt. For years, I questioned whether I could return to school while raising my children alone. I worried about finances, time management, and whether I would even succeed. But then came a pivotal moment—a realization that changed everything. I looked at my children and saw their bright futures depending on the choices I made. I knew I had to lead by example and show them that no matter the circumstances, education and perseverance could break any barrier. That moment launched my scholastic journey, leading me to Bishop State Community College, where I’ve not only pursued my education but have also found a supportive community that fuels my ambition. Now, as a sophomore, I am more determined than ever to complete my degree and become an elementary teacher. My passion lies in inspiring young minds and empowering others, especially women who may feel like their dreams have been put on hold. I want my story to be a testament that no obstacle is too great to overcome. No matter where we start, we have the power to shape our futures, one step at a time.
